Mirantus Health lands €5.5M to bring faster eye screening to 1,000+ locations

Mirantus Health, a Berlin-based health tech firm, has secured €5.5 million in funding to expand its digital platform, mira, across the DACH region. This development is crucial as Europe faces a growing strain on ophthalmological care due to an aging population and impending retirements among ophthalmologists, making timely eye care increasingly difficult to access. The mira platform enables opticians to conduct on-site eye screenings, including retinal imaging and pressure measurements, transmitting results digitally to ophthalmologists for evaluation. Customers can receive a results report within 24 to 48 hours, significantly reducing waiting times compared to traditional methods that can take months. The platform is currently available at over 200 locations and aims to expand to over 1,000 locations by 2027. This technology directly impacts both patients and the healthcare system by facilitating early detection of potential eye abnormalities, thereby potentially reducing long-term costs. The solution also assists with scheduling appointments through a network of over 400 ophthalmologists. Investors include Revent, Redstone, and Entrepreneur First, among others. This investment underscores the growing importance of digital solutions in healthcare, particularly in addressing challenges related to accessibility and efficiency within the European healthcare landscape.
