Participate in the drawing-up of the Code of Practice on transparent generative AI systems

The European Commission's AI Office is seeking participants to develop a Code of Practice focused on transparent generative AI systems. This initiative aligns with the EU's broader strategy to regulate and shape the development and deployment of artificial intelligence within its borders, particularly concerning transparency. The Code aims to provide practical guidance for compliance with the AI Act. AI providers must ensure machine-readable marks detect artificially generated or manipulated content. Deployers will also need to disclose when content, like deep fakes or information meant for public interest, has been AI-generated. Interested parties have until October 9, 2025, to submit expressions of interest. This code will impact AI providers, transparency technique providers, and civil society organizations. The aim is to reduce the risks associated with AI, like deception, manipulation, and the spread of misinformation. The drafting process, starting in October 2025, will include thematic working groups. The initiative is a key step in establishing a framework for AI development within the EU. The Code aims to promote trustworthiness and transparency. This will help ensure the responsible use of AI across various sectors, strengthening digital sovereignty.
