Cybersecurity Services Certification Scheme now available

Portugal has launched a voluntary Cybersecurity Services Certification Scheme, developed by the CNCS as the National Cybersecurity Certification Authority. This initiative aims to identify and promote cybersecurity services, addressing a growing demand for trustworthy providers both domestically and internationally. The scheme underscores a commitment to enhancing the quality and reliability of cybersecurity offerings within the nation.

The certification process is overseen by independent bodies accredited by IPAC, ensuring impartiality and thoroughness. Organizations providing cybersecurity services, regardless of size or type, can apply for certification if established in Portugal. This evaluation and ongoing monitoring will culminate in a national catalog of trusted cybersecurity service providers, boosting their reputation and facilitating their integration into global markets.

The scheme covers a range of critical cybersecurity services, including incident monitoring and response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and penetration testing. It establishes both general horizontal requirements for all applicants and specific criteria tailored to different service types. This structured approach ensures a high standard of service provision and contributes to Portugal's efforts in strengthening its digital security posture.
